I've just learned from the Trufen list that those awfully nice science fiction fans at Corflu in Las Vegas have in absentia voted me 'Best New Fan', which leaves me feeling totally stunned, very happy and rather unreal. Wow, this is an honour.

I can't be the only one who thinks that fandom is often like a family, and for me this is one of those times, so I am now going to have a cold beer to toast you all, and a serious lie down to take all this in... [/speech]
