I recall mentioning to major_clanger at Novacon that there is a "final", much-anticipated solo book from Arthur C. Clarke supposedly on the way, The Last Theorem to be published by Gollancz, and we're now almost a month behind the original publication date, October 20th...

Well, Sir Arthur doesn't sound so well these days and a delay of a month isn't really that unexpected in the publising industry (consider "The Salmon of Doubt").

Indeed he isn't. A couple of months ago James Benford (Greg's twin brother) commented to me that Clarke is now permanently bed-bound with post-polio syndrome, so let's hope The Last Theorem doesn't become a posthumous thing.
