A Happy Birthday to [livejournal.com profile] yonmei.

In other news, it would appear I've overcome my xenodochiophobia (a great word I picked up in the Guardian a few days ago) and will be returning to work imminently, heading off for Montreal tomorrow (where I really must go and see this for myself). I've given myself a bit of extra time just to let the dodgy knee settle back in properly, so thanks for the many messages and offers of support (surgical and otherwise).

Say hello to Montreal for me: I love that city. And have a safe and fun trip.

Why is xenodochiophobia only 'foreign hotels'? It's from the Greek 'xenodochieon' which means 'hotel'. Or just Greek ones?

I would hazard a guess and say the xeno bit refers to foreign, while xenodochieon might translate (guessing again) as 'home for non-Greek visitors'? Dunno really, it's all Greek to me...
