11) George Orwell, Animal Farm, 1945 [ RE-READ ]
I re-read this to see what comparisons I could draw with Ella Minnow Pea in their depictions of how accepted political elites become corrupt. The answer is there aren't many, but Animal Farm is still very colourful and concise, worth picking up again to get the fires burning, justifiably a classic.
