Happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] scribeoflight, currently off exploring China with frequent updates and making us all jealous.

Knee seems to be on the mend OK (again). After four extra days off and resting it as much as possible, yesterday it helped me walk part of the way from London to Muscat in Oman (with the other knee doing most of the real walking) on one of the busiest flights I've had for years. Only slight soreness in both knees as a result.

I made a rare appearance at a cinema on Saturday night in order to see Munich. So, violence begets violence, tell me something new. IMHO not a story particularly worth telling, but the end was a rather neat tie-up to the present and if it hadn't been done that way there'd be something even more lacking about it (apart, that is, from the neglect of much of a Palestinian angle). High point: Geoffrey Rush, and no Tom Hanks.

No Tom Hanks is always a plus. If a movie's advertising states "Tom Hanks does not apear in this movie," then I'm always more interested in seeing it.

There really should be more of that. It would help me decide which movies I'm interested in. Except that if Charlie Wilson's War ever happens I'll have to watch it because of the Aaron Sorkin screenplay.

They should have a special category on the IMDb for movies with Tom Hanks, so you can see at a glance which movies to avoid.
