In a somewhat vainglorious military manoeuvre, the US is rebranding the 'war on terrorism'. All they need now is a frigging logo.

I am almost amused by Washington's apparent belief that the US economy can sustain two decades of a global conflict. In a way I almost hope they try, if that in itself wouldn't lead to the meaningless deaths of million of people.

Clearly the US is now the company for which Dilbert works and GWB is the pointy haired boss. I wonder if Scott Adams has grounds to sue. . .

They really shouldn't use terms like "rebranding". It is so obviously all about the marketing. The US is being run like a dodgy company where nobody cares if the products work or if they have customers, as long as the investors are fooled.

A bodybag?

But seriously, shouldn't the "War on Cancer" be the "Long War"? I mean, it was declared sometime in the 60s. Even the "War on Drugs" has been going for longer (and bodybags would be an equally appropriate symbol there too.)

And is it just me or have we gotten pretty much nowhere on both of those too?

Hmm. I guess the good news is, the base won't go away, so my parents will still have someplace to deal with VA paperwork.
