Not to put too fine a point on it, I've been going stir crazy for well over a week, exacerbated by major sleeplessness, worries and other anxieties about family and friends. I've only been out of the house when I've absolutely had to, to give this knee a chance to heal at its own pace and not punish it too much. With physiotherapy it's difficult to judge if I'm overdoing it, and I only learn afterwards if I have because it hurts and this sets recuperation back a few days, so this process is bloody slow. I have to accept I probably won't be going back to my proper job just yet, or for at least a couple more weeks, and this is hard.
But after missing out on Concussion, I do still intend to be at the Arthur C. Clarke Awards in London tomorrow night though whether I'm up for a meal afterwards aswell depends on how the knee is bearing up, though I remain optimistic. I might even be up for
coalescent's BSFA interview with Ian MacLeod tonight, but don't count on seeing me there aswell...
