Bury My Heart at Terminal 4
Jun. 18th, 2006 05:33 amAll evidence would suggest I'm properly back at work at last, but there's a rather unreal dream-like quality to it all. Since March there were many times that I doubted I'd be getting on a 747 ever again, so actually stepping onto that plane on Friday evening felt like a major personal victory.
But instead of being given a quick nightstop to ease me back into things I find myself on a week-long marathon to the other side of the planet, during which time I get several days here in Bangkok but only a single night in Sydney on Tuesday (hopefully meeting up with
zarabee and friends). The knee still feels a little fragile at times but it's holding out fine so far. In part I'm settling back into the same old routine but taking it easy, another part is going through a feeling that I can best describe as gratitude that I'm actually out in the world again.
