The Opera House and Broad St close-ups are just gorgeous.

How green is Zimbabwe! (Or that photo of it anyway!)

The hotel is on the outskirts of the city, so plenty of green around.

Part of it with me is the whole tail-end of drought thing, so anywhere with a semblance of green really stands out. I did the same "omg! omg!" thing in Brisbane.

But it does look beautifully green, particularly with the red earth. Strangely similar to Mildura, but of course that's also because of irrigation up there.

Love them all, but I am particularly attracted to "Broad Street" and "Night Traffic."

'Broad Street' was one of those photos where the surrounding darkness rendered everything orange when digitised. Through the viewfinder the tiles were actually a rather dull grey but I prefer this result. Weird, but for such a simple shot which I didn't expect much from, it's currently my most popular at flickr.

Great work. I particularly like the somewhat more abstract stuff -- Paved With Gold, Corrugated Metal, Night at the Opera, and Night Traffic. But it's all good. Have you ever submitted any photographic work for consideration at a museum -- I'd love to "discover" you for the NC Museum of Art! Do you have a portfolio?

Thanks. Most stuff I have is up at Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/photos/ascendent) or fotoLibra (http://www.fotolibra.com/gallery/user/?user_id=11149) (an online photo library).

Good work, as usual. I especially like the way you manage to capture larger patterns and smaller ones in the same image.

My not-so-inner Chicago-native pedant notes that the "new" water tower is actually the John Hancock Building. The new Water Tower building is between the two, whitish with dark windows (probably behind the old one when you took this shot).
