This time it's the red-shirt pro-Thaksin barmy army kicking off. They're mostly seen as just plain scary, and everyone who's relieved that Thai politics have returned to a semblance of normality under Abhisit Vejjajiva just hope the red shirts will eventually shut up and go home. Not much chance of that: a few days ago a bunch of them tried to break up a semi-official gay gathering in Chiang Mai... all done in the name of Thaksin, presumably. This festering division in Thai political life will run for a while yet.
