Miles, 2 weeks old     Miles, 2 weeks old

Miles already has the whole 'cute kid' thing down to a fine art, like he's been at it for years. He wakes up, looks cute, pulls faces including something that resembles a real smile, looks cute some more, gurgles a bit, makes noises and rounds it off with more cute. Then when he's done with all that he looks at you like he's Scalzi. Or The Boss. "Bring milk. Now." He often looks like he knows stuff he obviously doesn't, and I have to pinch and remind myself, hang on, he's just two weeks old.

Sprog's Masterclass: This week, among other things I learned about Mongolian Spots, because Miles now has one at the base of his spine. I'm sure it wasn't there last week. It's small, circular, dark blue and harmless, and may take years to disappear. I'd never heard of them before a couple of days ago, but reading up on it I see they're especially common when only one parent is Asian.

We'll soon be applying for both his Thai and British passports (British by descent) as we're planning on bringing him to England sometime in November. Right now the days are leisurely and mostly quiet, and when he sleeps (which is quite a bit) we catch up on sleep too. I'm reading up on plenty of stuff to do with early child development, particularly children's vision which I'm finding very interesting. And I've rediscovered my losing streak at Scrabble.

He looks as though he's changed a great deal in just two weeks.

Still very cute. Does someone that size have to do the citizenship test when applying for a passport?

He's definitely mastered the art of looking cute. :)
