Briefly checking in from an internet cafe

No I haven't left the planet, I've just been living an internet- and news-free existence for the past couple of weeks while we begin our migration south to our new house in Hua Hin, a few hours from Bangkok. The only recent news I know about is that Japan now has a Democrat government. I feel like one of those Japanese soldiers that periodically stagger out of the jungle asking "Has the War ended yet? Long live our immortal Emperor!" It's rather refreshing not knowing a thing about what's going on in the outside world, I really should do this more often.

I'll reply to all e-mails etc sometime next week, but I doubt I'll be scrolling through two weeks of my FL to catch up on everything. Any new fandom slapfights I should know about?
