In defence of Comic Sans: "You think I'm pedestrian and tacky? Guess what, Picasso. We don't all have 73 weights of stick-up-my-ass Helvetica sitting on our 17" MacBook Pros."
The defence of Comio Sans misses the point: it's not disliked because it's a fun font compared to serious fonts, it's disliked because it's a lousy fun font compared to other fun fonts.
Do you have recommendations for other friendly looking fonts that are better than Comic Sans? I use it rarely, but just occasionally it's exactly the right font to use with a certain type of student.
For example the Welsh books for the classes I attend are in Comic Sans and we find it clear and easy to read and the informality suits the style of the books. But if there was something even better, it would be good to know.
Ye thorn has misfortunately taken a typografic resemblance to the letter P. Yus, unlikely. I can see all sorts of possibility of th0rn being banned from worksites yo.
I gotta say, Comic Sans and its appropriate use aside, the sanserif typeface this article was written in (very teeny tiny on my laptop) is a real pain to read, especially after the obvious ease of the simple Times Roman style headline. My Courier comment window is easier. Something about motes and beams and whose eyes hurt. No, let's not even go there.
