Lives of Photographs, 60.3, 64.1

Checking my bank account today I noticed an unexpected deposit a few days ago of several hundred quid, from Getty Images. Seems they've sold the Afghanistan aerial shot yet again, this time to the Californian defence equipment supplier Frontline Communications, plus a much larger sale of one of my favourite photos, kongkang trees at Bang Saphan in the Gulf of Thailand, to the international lawyers Norton Rose LLP who bought worldwide rights for brochure and direct mail for a year. I also got a higher percentage cut on that image as it's rights managed, not royalty free. Rather pleased, and I'll just hope they renew it a year from now... and with both these sales it goes to show you never know who's gonna buy your stuff.
