Applying the scientific method to Camping's Cunning Plan

Harold Camping has gone very quiet today. Several reality-based scenarios present themselves at this point, none of which involve an Invisible Friend but one or two involve very substantial sums of money. I'll not speculate here which I think is the most likely, just so I can say 'Told You So' after some empirical evidence emerges.
