I've seen the evidence...
May. 20th, 2004 10:31 pmHave just watched tonight's repeat of Battle of the Books on BBC4, in which Philip K. Dick's VALIS was roundly beaten by Aldous Huxley's Brave New World. Result notwithstanding it was fun to have been at the recording and Ken Campbell's mad rambling incoherence in defence of VALIS was great to see again. The director had sat me right behind the presenter James Naughtie because I was in a dark blue shirt, so I thankfully blend in particularly well with the background (relief). Also spotted
greengolux and
coalescent lurking elsewhere, but chalk one up for scene-stealer
alexmc who not only is central to a couple of shots he even does his own 'talking head' bit right at the end... Nice one, lawnmower man!
Now form an orderly queue if you want to borrow the videotape.
